Beijing Out of Control — Run Even If You Don't Want To! Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen Can't Hold On — Where's the Way Out! You Really Have to Sympathize with the Little Pinks! 7788 TALK Episode 995 20261010
This episode mainly discusses the ongoing fermentation and subsequent impact of the brake pedal fracture incident of the Huawei Maextro V800 car tested by Dongchedi. The program played a detailed video analyzing the vehicle's pedal structure, comparing the differences in materials, pivot support design, and manufacturing processes among AITO, Luxeed, and Maextro, pointing out that the Maextro V800 has issues such as weak bracket structures and weld marks in the areas subject to the greatest stress. The incident triggered the deletion of related videos across the entire internet, but it also led to the evaporation of Huawei's market value and cancellations by some car owners.

The matter of Dongchedi testing the brake pedal of Huawei's new car is actually still fermenting and has not ended. What was released before was just an outbreak, and now for the follow-up, I think some of you should have guessed it, but you might not have expected that there would be more content later. First of all, many friends know about this matter because I already talked about it yesterday, but you haven't seen what this car looks like in Huawei's promotion. Because everyone will definitely say that you are deliberately smearing Huawei, right, looking for that kind of video. So let's take a look at what Huawei filmed and released itself. This gesture when going out has actually been mocked once, so we won't mention it here. And this action of his is actually very unresponsive and quite silly. Then this starry sky roof is plagiarized, and how useless this coffee-making function is, I think any friend who has really sat in this kind of business car or driven a business car should know it in their heart, so we don't need to say more. Okay, so no one is smearing Huawei; it is what they released themselves. Everyone should know that this is a million-level car, and there shouldn't be any million-level cars that take these as selling points. Huawei is the first, and also the only one, and I think it can be considered to have created a new track. Then yesterday, I actually also said that this matter, the video released by Dongchedi, will definitely be gone first. And whether this account can be kept is another matter. Sure enough, today, first the video is gone, and secondly, the blue V of his account has been cancelled, it cannot be seen, it is gone. In fact, before Dongchedi released this video, they were already very cautious, because so-called insiders said so.
It is said that Dongchedi is still quite afraid of the other party's legal team, so they hired this notary office. Because I also know people in the automotive circle, my buddy told me that the notary office hired by Dongchedi, along with three Maextro (Zunjie) vehicles, were purchased from this 4S dealership, and the notary staff accompanied them the whole way, filming the process. They were placed in Dongchedi's warehouse, and three brand-new ones are still sealed there now. Actually, they didn't just buy three; they bought six. Three were snapped, and three are sealed, all from the same batch. Don't think you can win; they even brought in a third-party notary office, it's useless. To be blunt, there's nothing to defend here. What professional, let me look at this professional stuff. Dongchedi belongs to Douyin, right? Behind Dongchedi is Douyin. And there's nothing more to say, you know, this brand itself needs no further explanation, right? Those who know, know.
Uh, actually, these are the sharp critiques of this incident, and everyone can see that they couldn't escape the fate of being taken down. It's not just the original video; you have to know that behind Dongchedi stands ByteDance. It's not just some helpless, random individual self-media; it is backed by a very large mountain. Even so, the video was still deleted across the entire internet. Under these circumstances, Dongchedi chose to confront it head-on, and they released a new video. So what is the content of this video? It is an analysis video of the materials and structure of the three brake pedals from Huawei that were snapped.
Now, we have removed the broken pedal and the pedal bracket of the Maextro V800; this is one of the three. We haven't removed the other two, but their remains are laid out here. These remains are highly similar; the fractures are the same, and the breaking positions are the same—one-to-one clones, broken just like triplets. This arm is metal, essentially a lever, and there is a fulcrum here that, when force is applied...
It snapped them all open, pop, pop, pop. After it cracked, the bottom was torn open. These are all very thin. The hollowed-out areas are where the stress is greatest; the place with the strongest stress is actually the thinnest part. The edge strength is also very thin, and the entire reinforced structure is also very thin; it doesn't have any force retention. You just step on it, and it collapses. The bracket is the fixed position for your entire brake pedal, just like the foundation of a building. All your brake pedal actions must be based on this bracket. This bracket is made of PP material, polypropylene plus GF40, which is glass fiber. PP, polypropylene, is very common and widely used in the catering industry. The advantage of PP is that it is heat-resistant, stable, and does not absorb moisture, and the weight reduction effect is very obvious. But the disadvantages are also very obvious; you need to make sufficient design in the structure and leave sufficient redundancy to approach the performance of metal. But the biggest problem with this car is not the material. These two in my hand are also brake bases made of PP material, using polypropylene, plus their pedals; one is from AITO (Wenjie), and one is from Luxeed (Zhijie). This one is from AITO, and its material uses PP plus LGF40, um, it uses long glass fiber, which is stronger in rigidity. Whether it's the material thickness or the structure, it is obviously much thicker and sturdier than this one. The design of these reinforcing ribs is very reasonable. This bracket is actually more interesting. The material of this Luxeed is exactly the same as the Maextro V800, and even the mold maker and the Maextro's mold maker are the same person; the part numbers only differ by one digit, but the material thickness on the side of this car is much thicker.
This part here is solid overall.
Reinforcing bars are being welded on the outside. Since it is also an MPV and experienced six brake applications, why did nothing happen? Therefore, for the same component made of the same material from the same supplier, the performance can be completely different, resulting in it breaking. The pedal is small, and the bracket is not sturdy. Judging from the cracks on the brake pedal bracket of the Zunjie, it looks very much like a brittle overload failure of the bracket material. This is likely caused by insufficient robustness against instantaneous peak braking loads. Although all three vehicles used the same modified PP material, in terms of the brake pedal bracket structure, the pedal bracket of the Zunjie V800 is the weakest among the three vehicles. First, the center distance from the Zunjie V800 brake pedal center to the axis of the bracket pivot is the furthest, reaching 130 millimeters. The further the left offset distance of the pedal is, the greater the challenge to the brake pedal bracket structure, and the higher the requirement for structural strength. However, the structure in the pivot area of the Zunjie V800 is the weakest among the three vehicles, with only a single layer of floor acting as support in the pivot area. Although Aito and Luxeed also have a certain left offset issue, we can see that both the left and right sides of their bracket pivots are reinforced with two to three layers of vertical panels. The Luxeed has three layers of vertical reinforcement panels on both the left and right sides, while Aito has three layers on the right and two layers on the left. Compared to the other two vehicles, under similar brake pedal bracket materials, the Zunjie V800 uses the weakest structure to bear the greatest force. To make matters worse, only the Zunjie has weld lines in the area subjected to the highest stress, which should be avoided at all costs in plastic part processing technology. No weld lines can be seen in the pivot stress area of the brake pedal brackets of the Luxeed and Aito.
Obviously, genuine design and process optimization were carried out.
A huge question mark might really need to be placed on the matching among the structure, materials, and selection of this part, and we need to think about why such a serious problem occurred. The brake pedal is the last line of defense! I remember Ford experienced a fracture internationally, triggering a massive global recall. I didn't expect that six years later, a similar scene would happen again. Many people might say, without a brake pedal, you can still stop the car by shifting into the P gear. Under a normal braking distance of 38 meters, without using the P gear, it brakes for 140 meters. If there is a cliff ahead, you would slide down. If there is a a large truck ahead, or an electric bicycle or pedestrian suddenly darting out, whether it is NOA or assistance, when it ultimately fails to help you and you finally have to rely on braking to resolve that moment, the brake pedal snaps under your foot. Those few moments of despair are probably nothing more than that.
Every year, the National Bureau of Statistics conducts actual measurements. From 2019 to the present, at least three hundred models are tested each year. The measured data is then uploaded to the App. At least in the test project of braking from 100 kilometers per hour to zero, they all complete it quite smoothly. I didn't expect that after six tries of braking, none of these three vehicles could do it. The first application failed, the second failed, the third failed, and the fourth failed. The brake pedals all snapped, and the pedals under the feet were completely gone.
This Qiqi.
A car worth a million, selling for one million.
There is a concept in automotive engineering called PPM, which is the failure rate per million vehicles. The failure rate right now.
Is almost one hundred percent.
We reproduced this scenario in a closed test track. There are plenty of safety personnel to ensure our safety. Inside the car, I was scared to that extent. The second brake application.
I really dare not imagine, in real life, if a driver encounters this situation, what they would experience?
Ah! Something happened! Something happened! It broke.
The most basic function of a car is to safely transport humans from point A to point B. When it cannot even achieve the most basic safety, it loses its most fundamental function. This is a very, very major and serious problem. For any car manufacturer, it would trigger a large-scale recall and require comprehensive improvements. We are the owners of the third vehicle, and we also hope that the car manufacturer can take this seriously. That is to help owners solve problems, eliminate this hidden danger as soon as possible, and resolve this issue swiftly. We also hope everyone can take safety seriously and reach their destinations safely and soundly. At the same time, do not give up on full braking just because the pedals of all three vehicles were snapped. When encountering any emergency on the road, brake when you should, brake with full force, and step on it while standing up. Only in this way can safety be maximized, and you should not give up eating for fear of choking. From the moment the V800 was purchased and towed over, the whole process was recorded. Moreover, we also filmed what the brake bracket looked like before testing.
Ensuring there are no missing shots, in a single continuous take.
The impact of this incident goes far beyond this! So subsequently, you might say, since this unexpected windfall of traffic is there for the taking, why not capitalize on it, right? Therefore, various automakers started testing the brake pedals of their own vehicles.
This is Toyota's automatic pedal, which has an all-metal structure. Come on, you can try it, see how much force I can step on it with, and see if it can be damaged in the slightest. This is what we usually use for.
Being a strongman.
Yes.
Let's try how much oil I can step out? First time.
Ah!
Zero, and then receiving electricity.
Which foot to put on? Hey.
Still not enough!
I am out of energy too.

Wow! It maxed out the gauge!
Two.
First.
The brake pedal is still intact. What do you all think of the quality of this brake pedal? Welcome everyone to review.

Beijing out of control.
Well, right now, all the videos discussing this matter have been completely cleaned up, leaving not a single piece of armor behind. Uh, I think right now we'll just see if this Dongchedi has the ability to keep biting onto this matter and refuse to let go, or if subsequently Huawei might use certain methods to force Dongchedi to be shut down, so that no one is allowed to bring up this matter ever again. But just from this one video, it seems that Huawei's market value has already evaporated by billions, and some car owners are starting to cancel their orders even if they have to forfeit their deposits. After all, if we look at it from another perspective, we can understand that you see it's not like a car door or some paint peeling on the exterior, this is a broken brake pedal. Even the most foolish person wouldn't blindly choose Huawei at a time like this. This is a brake pedal, it's a matter of life and death.
