Jia Jinglong was born in Beigaoying Village, Shijiazhuang, Hebei in 1986. In May 2013, shortly before his planned wedding, village party boss He Jianhua organized thugs and heavy machinery to forcibly demolish Jia's newly decorated bridal home. Jia and his family were beaten and injured, the home was flattened, and his fiancée called off the wedding. For nearly two years, Jia repeatedly sought compensation and justice, only to be met with arrogance and contempt by corrupt authorities. Pushed past endurance, on February 19, 2015 (Lunar New Year's Day), Jia shot and killed He Jianhua with a modified nail gun. Despite legal scholars and hundreds of lawyers pleading for clemency and pointing out the regime's violent illegal demolition and Jia's intent to surrender, Jia Jinglong was executed by the tyrannical CCP regime on November 15, 2016, at age 30. His dying words—'If there had been even a single step left to retreat, a single path to live, I would never have walked down this road of no return'—cemented his legacy as a martyr who resisted land theft and tyranny.
On the morning of November 15, 2016, the Shijiazhuang Intermediate People's Court carried out the death penalty on Jia Jinglong in accordance with the execution order issued by the Supreme People's Court; he had shot and killed village Party secretary He Jianhua after his own marital home was forcibly demolished.
On May 17, 2016, the Hebei High People's Court rejected Jia Jinglong's appeal in a second-instance ruling, upheld the first-instance death sentence handed down by the Shijiazhuang Intermediate People's Court, and submitted it to the Supreme People's Court for review.
On November 24, 2015, the Shijiazhuang Intermediate People's Court sentenced Jia Jinglong to death for intentional homicide in a first-instance ruling and deprived him of political rights for life; Jia Jinglong subsequently appealed.
On February 19, 2015 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), at a Spring Festival gathering in Beigaoying Village, Chang'an District, Shijiazhuang, Jia Jinglong shot and killed He Jianhua, the village Party branch secretary and village committee director, with a modified nail gun, over the forced demolition of his marital home in 2013.
On February 19, 2015, the first day of the Lunar New Year, Jia Jinglong killed He Jianhua and then drove to turn himself in. On the way, his car was rammed to a stop by vehicles driven by He Jianhua's son and nephew, and he was restrained, suffering multiple injuries, including a comminuted fracture of the lower leg.
On the afternoon of May 7, 2013, at 5 pm, 18 days before the wedding date, the demolition team of the Beigaoying Village Committee forcibly demolished Jia Jinglong's wedding home with an excavator. His father was restrained, relatives were beaten, Jia Jinglong was injured in the head, and the engagement was later broken off.
After Jia Jinglong's marital home was forcibly demolished in May 2013, he repeatedly wrote letters of complaint to the Chang'an District Procuratorate and the district letters and visits bureau, and repeatedly sought talks with village head He Jianhua over compensation, all to no avail.
