On May 28, 2026, students at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law discovered a functioning hidden wireless covert camera device above the partition of a women’s restroom in the Zhiyuan Pavilion study building. The device was capable of transmitting footage remotely. The device in question was subsequently handed over to the Security Office and a police investigation was launched.
