Ruoyu Duan, an Oregon resident who formerly served in the US Army, pleaded guilty on September 16 to charges of conspiracy to gather and transmit national defense information. Between 2021 and 2025, he conspired with others to collect sensitive military information related to US military combat capabilities, including weapon system information, and transferred it to individuals within China.
