On November 21, 2025, during the Germany Düsseldorf International Medical Device Exhibition, about 200 exhibitors from China purchased a 20‑euro boxed meal from a local Chinese restaurant at the venue and subsequently suffered collective vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms, with some using the restroom more than 40 times in one night and showing blood streaks. The affected individuals were rushed to hospitals for treatment, with some in critical condition. Local medical institutions have intervened, and the exhibition organizers have launched an investigation into the catering provider.
