Any Achievement is Yours? One Should Not Be Too Xi Jinping!

Recently, the domestic game "Black Myth: Wukong" has become a hit. From the initial massive gathering of dissidents on Steam, to the subsequent collective campaign to attack foreign review sites, and now people have started saying that the release of this game was entirely due to the Party's good policies.

I'm dying of laughter. If the CCP were truly the mastermind behind this game, would the Steam gathering have happened? In my view, attacking foreign review sites is not a patriotic act at all; it is entirely due to disagreements arising from different understandings of the game among players. The same disputes could easily occur between different groups of domestic players. If this were the CCP's cultural export, wouldn't such events precisely prove that your export failed? Because foreigners do not recognize the game in the same way Chinese players do. Moreover, group consciousness is almost an innate human instinct. Patriotism is not blameworthy, but I just hope the CCP doesn't have the nerve to "claim credit" when people express their patriotic passion. Nation, state, and political party must be distinguished.

Some people say, "Look, domestic games used to be unable to show red blood, and the level of violence in this game is unprecedented. Isn't this thanks to the Party's good policies?" What I want to say is that people who say such things have likely lost their minds. This is like saying: ending the Cultural Revolution was entirely due to the Party's wise leadership; ending the "Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside" movement was entirely due to the Party's wise leadership; ending the Great Leap Forward was entirely due to the Party's wise leadership; ending the Dynamic Zero-COVID policy was entirely due to the Party's wise leadership.

Finally, I hope the CCP is not so thick-skinned that they rush to claim credit whenever Chinese people achieve something. If you really love calculating achievements, it's best to calculate both merits and faults together. For example, if a "Black Monkey" game is well-made today, and the credit goes to your Communist Party, no problem. Then, shouldn't all those pay-to-win garbage online games developed in China before also be credited to your Communist Party? After so many years since the founding of the state, only one game with some achievement has been made; shouldn't that also be credited to you?

Running a party is like being a person; one should not be too Xi Jinping.
