On the morning of September 16, a landslide occurred at Dingziba in Shidaguan Village, Diexi Town, Mao County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, blocking traffic on the K2029+200 segment of National Highway 213. The Mao County Emergency Management Bureau said that because of early warning and control, no casualties occurred.
On the morning of September 14, 2026, Wancheng Town, Wanning City, Hainan Province was struck by an EF3–EF4 tornado, damaging the playground facilities of Beijing Normal University Wanning Experimental School, with no casualties. On September 10, 2026, Tibet Cyber Police announced multiple cases of penalties for online comments regarding the Gyirong mudslide disaster. The netizens involved were given administrative penalties by police in Tibet, Heilongjiang, Anhui, and Guangdong, for fabricating that the mudslide was man-made or induced by an earthquake, maliciously comparing it to rescue efforts in other countries to distort the effectiveness of China's disaster relief, fabricating that all public officials had died in the line of duty, and spreading false rumors.
