On October 12, Indonesian immigration authorities detained 6 Chinese nationals at a residence in Semarang, seizing 50 mobile phones, 42 iPads and 3 laptops. They subsequently tracked three hotels and Semarang airport, detaining a total of 24 Chinese nationals in Semarang and Yogyakarta. One of them was identified by the SOI system at the airport and taken away, and is currently under further investigation.

On June 4, Indonesian immigration authorities detained 4 Chinese nationals at another residence in Semarang on suspicion of romance scams, seizing 604 mobile phones and other devices; whether the case is linked to the October case has not yet been confirmed.
