Vientiane police in Laos raid rental house involved in fraud, detaining 26 Chinese nationals and seizing 805 mobile phones
On November 5, the Lao Ministry of Public Security raided a rental house in Vientiane suspected of being involved in cyber fraud and illegal online gambling, detaining 26 Chinese nationals and one Thai national, and seizing 805 mobile phones and multiple computers. A 31-year-old local female translator who attempted to bribe police for their release was also detained. Police are currently tracking down the organizers behind the operation.
