Haier Intern Fired After Taking One Week Off for Father’s Chemotherapy
On October 8, a netizen interning at Haier in Beijing posted that they were dismissed by the company on the grounds of ensuring normal business operations during the Double 11 shopping festival after requesting a one-week remote internship because their father was undergoing chemotherapy. They said they had handled the entire team’s work alone before the National Day holiday and had completed all holiday tasks, and later said that HR had called their mother.
