On September 18, a 28-year-old netizen posted that when applying for a Hong Kong and Macau travel pass in another city, the police station of their household registration called their parents and relatives to inquire about their travel intentions and verify if they knew about it. Police explained this was for safety reasons, but the individual believed their privacy and itinerary as an adult were improperly disclosed.
