On August 22, 2025, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced that Wang Lixia, Deputy Secretary of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Party Committee and Chairperson of the regional government, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is undergoing review and investigation.
