On October 18, Dongguan Guanyin Guanshi Catering Company in Guangdong announced that its stores had suffered cumulative losses of over 500,000 yuan since April. It decided that starting November 1, employees with a monthly salary of 4,800 yuan or more must give up up to 20% of their salary to share the operating losses, with any amount exceeding that to be borne by the shareholders.
