Rumor-mongers launch malicious doxxing under the guise of “asking for the image and its source,” exposing the blogger’s real name and private information
On September 16, 2026, while AI-generated fake pornographic and face-swapped image sets drew malicious crowds, some rumor-mongers and vile netizens, using excuses such as “asking for the images and resources” and “verifying the person’s real information,” carried out a malicious doxxing and “box-opening” campaign against “CC who buys phones” on an illegal overseas social-engineering database channel. The blogger’s real name, national ID number, private mobile phone number, home address, and family members’ information were maliciously published to groups and forums both inside and outside China. This was followed by a flood of anonymous insulting and abusive calls and harassing text messages containing obscene words, while comment sections and direct messages were inundated with vulgar remarks such as “asking for resources” and “box-opening victory,” leaving the blogger’s daily life and mental state in severe panic.
