On the morning of May 26, 2026, the Lishui River in Yongding District, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, suddenly rose due to a rainstorm. Four men were fishing in the river channel when they encountered danger. Two of them evacuated, while the other two were trapped and swept away by the floodwaters. After search and rescue operations, both were confirmed to have tragically died.
