Landslide Occurs in Wu River, Pengshui County, Chongqing, Resulting in 8 Deaths and 34 Missing

On July 17, a landslide occurred near the three bridges of Wu River in Pengshui County, Chongqing, burying or dropping more than ten residential buildings into the river. By that night, 18 people had been rescued, 8 dead, and another 34 missing. Officials said that before the incident, a grid worker had noticed falling rocks and organized an evacuation, but netizens questioned the insufficient warning.
