China Coast Guard vessel 3102 enters Dongsha restricted waters with AIS off; Taiwan Coast Guard broadcasts warning to expel

On October 31, Taiwan's Coast Guard Administration reported that the China Coast Guard vessel 3102 entered the restricted waters of Dongsha with its AIS turned off and broadcasted that the area was under the jurisdiction of the People's Republic of China. The Taiwan patrol vessel Xunhu No. 7 approached to monitor and expel the vessel. Coast Guard personnel broadcasted a declaration stating, "The Republic of China (Taiwan) is a sovereign and independent country, and it is not subordinate to the People's Republic of China," demanding its immediate departure. The two vessels came within approximately 1 nautical mile of each other.
