CCP Cross-Border Repression Runs Wild: Kevin Tsai Blacklisted, Shen Po-yang Stalked, Even Lai Ching-te's Son Targeted!
This episode primarily explores the various methods of the CCP's transnational repression and how it is spreading overseas. Topics covered include well-known celebrity Kevin Tsai being blacklisted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for attending an event with Puma Shen, Overseas Community Affairs Council Minister Hsu Chia-ching resigning after being smeared, Taiwanese political figures and President Lai Ching-te's son being stalked and harassed abroad, as well as the shocking inside story of a former Xinjiang official in California who used the surrogacy industry to father multiple American-born children and subjected them to abuse.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) originally suppressed things quietly, but because they tracked and harassed people like this, it ended up letting more Americans know that Taiwan has a president, and that the president's son studies in the United States. Hard news makes for the best listening; I am your host Stan, welcome back to the show. Today I want to talk about the CCP's transnational repression tactics and the methods they hope to use to make Taiwanese people keep silent and dare not express their own opinions. Of course, let's first discuss the recent matter regarding Kevin Tsai. Last time, at the establishment convention for Puma Shen's campaign office, actually a lot of people attended, and the event was very successful. In one of the rows, you all saw a familiar face, and that face was the very famous host and artist Kevin Tsai. Kevin Tsai has developed his career for a long time in both Taiwan and China, and he used to be quite close to—people would say—pro-China talking heads and pro-China artists, including Dee Hsu and Barbie Hsu, and he has a deep understanding of China. Today I chatted about this topic with Tai Tai, and Tai Tai told me that she had just looked at the experiences of some female Taiwanese artists who married Chinese men and didn't have very successful marriages, who might have their own thoughts about China, but we don't know for sure, and we don't know Kevin Tsai. However, what everyone knows is that because he attended Puma Shen's event and went to listen to Puma Shen's speech, he is now being canceled by the CCP; his original endorsement fees are to be canceled, and the videos of past interviews of him on the internet have also been taken down. In Taiwan, those pro-China, China-licking talking heads have also started to curse at him, and even Kuomintang Chairperson Cheng Li-wen directly used intimidation, saying, 'Do you no longer want the massive benefits of the Chinese market?' Using this kind of intimidation to tell you to support a certain candidate is also quite disgusting. There is another pro-China, China-licking YouTuber who also said, oh, he feels very sorry for the brands cooperating with him because he went to cheer for Puma Shen. Everyone needs to understand one thing: this is a country with freedom of speech. Of course, if you support Taiwan's sovereignty or support political figures who lean toward Taiwan's sovereignty, you will also be canceled in China. This is something everyone knows. But in the past, you really had to take the stage and campaign for them before the CCP would settle accounts with you. Kevin Tsai didn't take the stage; he was just sitting in the audience listening to a speech. He is a media professional, someone who has developed his career in the media industry for a long time. He originally should understand—he is a person from Taipei—what the policy platforms of the two Taipei mayoral candidates were and what their political achievements were. Later, when he accepted an interview, he also said, 'I want to interview both of them. I really want to interview Puma Shen, and I really want to interview Chiang Wan-an.' Of course, as a media professional, you have to interview both sides. According to this logic, recently Jaw Shaw-kong—who is also a pro-China talking head—didn't he interview Puma Shen? Then should Jaw Shaw-kong's show also be taken off the air? Because if you just listen according to their logic, asking questions will also be labeled as campaigning for them, since after all this is his city, and you should understand both candidates. But these kinds of actions are all described by the CCP as campaigning for them. What does campaigning mean? If he went up on stage and truly spoke for Puma Shen, rallying votes and calling on everyone to vote for Puma Shen, that is called campaigning. Sitting in the audience and listening to someone's policy platform is called campaigning? This is called understanding what Taiwan's current political situation is. In the past, my Jiu Jiu in Taiwan would sometimes let me pass by Kevin Tsai's show, and she would watch it too. Hahaha, the whole family watched it, hahaha, it was quite interesting. To be honest, you say that going to listen to a speech like this is also called campaigning; that also means the CCP's transnational repression and their filthy hands poking into everything have reached a higher level. In the past, you had to make a statement, you really had to take the stage; now you don't even need to take the stage, and if you attend an event they will start settling accounts with you—they keep a ledger, after all. However, regarding this matter involving Kevin Tsai, he ultimately wrote a sentence that I deeply agree with, and his writing is so good that just a short sentence holds extremely important meaning. Listen to this: 'The wind blows and disappears, but the seeds carried by the wind remain.' And I think this probably also means Puma Shen's speech touched Kevin Tsai, which is a good thing. I also feel that although some people do business with China and have interactions with China, if they truly look at who is working hard for Taiwan and who is dedicating themselves to Taiwan right now, and then make the correct choice, this is a very good thing. Anyway, you may not have understood the CCP's practices in the past, but now this is also giving you an extra opportunity to see their true colors.
And I say, looking at the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s actions, haven't they been escalating step by step? They are becoming increasingly arrogant. Has Kevin Tsai been tracked? Recently, it was also mentioned that there is a risk of cross-border repression against him, because haven't all his platforms been banned? So currently, Taiwan's police need to provide him with some protection. Furthermore, Puma Shen, the Taipei mayoral candidate, has also been stalked by people coming from Hong Kong, haven't they? Are they surveilling him? Someone might even follow his children. But Puma Shen has already been tracked for a long time. Now, even those who are not entering politics, not practically in the political arena, are also being tracked. Take the case of Kevin Tsai; the CCP also uses their media power, influencers, opinion leaders, and politicians in Taiwan to influence Taiwanese politics, and they also want to take down Taiwanese politicians who are unfavorable to the CCP. In reality, I think it is a great pity. Minister Hsu Chia-ching is the Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council. She tendered her resignation; the issue with her resignation is that she was smeared and had rumors spread about her. I think as a minister, she has been very, very successful over the years, giving more overseas Taiwanese confidence in the OCAC. Because of the CCP's recent actions—like the Ethnic Unity Law, the Exit and Entry Administration Law, the National Defense Mobilization Law—their methods of cross-border repression have become increasingly outrageous. The Overseas Community Affairs Council has actually been very active in assisting and helping overseas Taiwanese. Previously, they also interacted very closely with politicians from various countries around the world. Moreover, Hsu Chia-ching happened to excel in this area. Yet those people from the Pan-Blue and Ko camps smeared her for going abroad too often, but don't overseas affairs and overseas Taiwanese involve people living abroad? If you genuinely want to take care of these Taiwanese overseas, how can you not travel abroad? When they hear about going abroad, they complain. Also, claiming that her husband took an official car—this is also quite ridiculous. Originally, Hsu Chia-ching is of ministerial rank, and many events invite both of them, with the whole family attending together. Is Hsu Chia-ching supposed to take the official car while her husband takes the MRT? Isn't that very strange? In any case, they depart together, leaving from the hotel; whether you take the MRT or take the official car, it is not done that way. Whether for American officials or Taiwanese officials, if you ride in an official car, doesn't your spouse naturally ride with you? So their smear tactics and rumors are truly terrible. I think, Minister, you have truly worked hard. Of course, her resignation is also her own decision, her own choice, but I think it is a great pity. Now, because of the CCP's suppression and the smears from the Pan-Blue and Ko camps, the Taiwanese government has lost yet another capable person who gets things done.
Speaking of tailing and tracking, previously wasn't the car requested by Hsiao Bi-khim in the Czech Republic also almost hit? She was also often tracked and harassed. Recently in California, President Lai—President Lai Ching-te's son was also followed. And the person following him, wasn't she arrested at the airport? She was originally trying to flee to Shanghai, a woman disguised as a real estate agent. Although the United States is very serious about catching Communist spies, very crucial Taiwan political figures are still harassed and still tracked. However, looking on the bright side, currently everyone across the US also refers to Lai Ching-te as the president, and he has a son in the US. So when talking about the Taiwan president's son, look, look at any report, they all write "the Taiwan president's son." Therefore, the US is also essentially recognizing Taiwan, and this piece of news can be seen everywhere. Because the CCP originally engaged in silent suppression, but because of their stalking and harassment, it actually made more Americans realize that Taiwan has a president, and that this president's son is studying in the United States. So under such terrible circumstances, we can still see some phenomena that make people feel optimistic.
Since we just mentioned California, let's stay in California. A few months ago, wasn't the mayor of the city of Arcadia convicted? Wasn't he acting as an illegal foreign agent for the CCP? And he also spread fake news, right? He also spread CCP overseas propaganda in Southern California. Arcadia is also very special. Near Arcadia, actually, in several cities around there, there are quite a lot of Taiwanese people. Over 60% of its population is Asian, and there are also many Chinese people. So its mayor naturally collaborated with the CCP and harassed local residents. During this period in Arcadia, an even more horrifying thing happened: a former Xinjiang official, this Xinjiang official and his wife, used surrogate mothers to procure 21 children for themselves in the United States. Moreover, all these children have US passports and US citizenship. And their mansion in Arcadia has been described by American media as a "house of horrors," because inside that house of horrors, those 21 children were frequently abused, corporally punished with the CCP style of discipline, and beaten. They abused the children in deeply humiliating ways. As I just said, this Xinjiang official is Han, a Chinese person, not an Uyghur; he was the kind of person who controlled the Uyghurs. Surrogacy is a huge industry in California. Why are so many CCP officials in California? Because California's laws regulating surrogacy are relatively lax. In other US states, surrogacy is illegal, but California is comparatively open. Because under US law, if you give birth to a child in the United States, that child directly gets a US passport, directly gets US citizenship, and is directly an American. For those Chinese people now in California, this is a symbol of wealth: they love having children via surrogates, directly bringing those children back to China to raise them, but they all have US passports, and later they can be sent back to the United States to work for the CCP.
What happened in Arcadia is that they just stayed over there in California, and those two individuals have huge amounts of funds, with 280 million dollars in their account. Where did this money come from? Is it related to the Chinese Communist Party government, and is it related to genocide? Because recently in California, a lot of proxy companies have been discovered—meaning Chinese people opening proxy agencies to help other Chinese people in the US with surrogate services. The main purpose of having babies born in the US is to get them US passports. After those children grow up, they can also attend prestigious universities in the US, because they can use money to secure their admission. Additionally, once they grow up, they have voting rights in the US and can even hold public office, as long as they superficially claim they do not hold Chinese nationality, which makes it very difficult for the US to investigate. China is a hostage state, and legally it does not allow dual citizenship. You are only supposed to have one passport if you are a Chinese citizen, but key figures and stakeholders—even many famous people, like Eileen Gu, didn't Eileen Gu represent China during the Winter Olympics? If you can represent China, you must have Chinese nationality; if you have Chinese nationality, you shouldn't have US nationality, because the People's Republic of China only allows a single nationality. However, for people like Eileen Gu, the CCP can turn a blind eye. She can brazenly claim that she is an American in the US and Chinese in China. Similarly, those 'Eileen Gus'—except those 'Eileen Gus' might spend very little time in the US, because they are wealthy Chinese people who use surrogacy to have them born, raise them and educate them in China, and then send them to the US to influence American politics. This once again shows how big the loopholes are in US laws. Although the former Xinjiang official in Arcadia is currently under investigation, whether he will be convicted is still a huge question mark, because surrogacy is legal in California. Now the issue is not that he is doing surrogacy in California, but that he didn't take good care of the children. However, because California has many leftists, they often say that Asian child-rearing methods are different from ordinary Americans, so this is a cultural difference. Therefore, we will see if his defense lawyer can make them argue that abusing children in this way is an appropriate behavior, and see how the judge views it. I really like the prosecutor investigating him, as they know very well what those people are doing in the US. But I don't know what the outcome of this case will be, or whether this house of horrors will continue to abuse children in Arcadia. So it seems that different cases—from an artist in Taiwan being bullied by the CCP, to Taiwanese politicians being tracked, to the CCP exploiting legal loopholes in the US to secretly have surrogate babies born, letting them get US nationality and US passports, and so on—are all connected and are part of the CCP's war launched against the whole world. Thank you all very much for watching
