The essence of anti-communism is to seize Chinese people from the hands of the CCP.

Whoever wins the support of more Chinese people than the Chinese Communist Party does is the one who truly has the potential to overthrow the CCP. Defamation and humiliation cannot win over the Chinese people, and a complete denial of Chinese civilization cannot win them over either. The foundation of a regime has never been weapons, but the recognition of the ruled. The reason the CCP has been able to exist to this day is not because Marxist theory is so brilliant, but because it has successfully monopolized the narrative right of "representing the Chinese people."

True anti-communists are not those who curse the loudest, hold the most extreme stances, or display the fiercest emotions, nor are they those who continue to amplify the CCP's narrative within the context set by the CCP itself. True anti-communists should be people with wisdom, methods, and strategies; people who can deconstruct the CCP's narrative; people who can inversely utilize the CCP's narrative to destroy its political goals; and people who can make more and more Chinese people stop viewing the CCP as "one of us."

Some people try to save China through "complete Westernization." I do not doubt the good intentions behind their motives, but this path is doomed to be unfeasible in reality. As early as the Republic of China era, some people advocated for total Westernization, and even proposed abandoning Chinese characters in favor of alphabetic writing in order to fundamentally transform Chinese society. However, history has already provided the answer: what has truly been able to gain widespread social support has never been a complete denial of one's own civilization, but rather an outward mobilization based on the Greater Chinese civilization community.

You may say that you have completely disenchanted yourself from "China," but you cannot expect 1.4 billion Chinese people to be just like you and stop identifying with the identity of "China." This is neither realistic nor operational. There is only one truly viable path for anti-communism—stripping the CCP from the Chinese people, rather than stripping the Chinese people from China.

Moreover, democratic and constitutional ideas are not naturally exclusive to Chinese civilization. Taiwan's democratization has fully proven this. One could even say that compared to the mainland, Taiwan has more completely continued the traditional lineage of Chinese civilization on many levels.

Taiwan still uses traditional characters (Traditional Chinese) to this day, rather than the Simplified Chinese characters forcibly modified by the CCP for political and ideological purposes. The glyph structures of Chinese pictographs themselves carry a massive amount of traditional culture, ethical order, and philosophical ways of thinking. This is also why mainland society, having long used Simplified Chinese characters, generally faces a higher threshold of comprehension when reading ancient texts and understanding traditional classics, whereas Taiwanese society retains a more natural and continuous cultural foundation in this regard.

Not only that, Taiwanese society has long maintained freedom of belief, and traditional clan structures, religious practices, and folk beliefs have been continued. I have seen many videos of Taiwanese people returning to the mainland to worship their ancestors; whether in ritual, movement, or overall demeanor, they are rigorous yet natural, solemn without being pretentious, fully displaying the spiritual temperament of traditional China as a "state of etiquette." Traditional knowledge systems such as traditional Chinese medicine, feng shui, and the I Ching also continue to be passed down among the people without being crudely labeled with the political hat of "feudal superstition." Whether or not to believe is a matter of personal choice, rather than the result of mandatory adjudication by power.

Particularly importantly, all these continuations of traditional Chinese civilization have not conflicted with modern democratic systems; instead, they are naturally embedded within the social structure of democratic constitutionalism without any sense of discordance. Taiwan's experience clearly demonstrates that Chinese civilization is fully capable of achieving a benign integration with modern democratic systems under the premise of neither being severed nor denied.

Since Taiwan has already proven this with reality, why should we still go to great lengths to persuade the Chinese people to abandon traditional culture, completely deny their own civilization, or even deny "who they are" first before we can talk about modernization and democracy?
