Just as we refused to recognize the Soviet annexation of the Baltic states, we must never legitimize Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Borders cannot be redrawn by force. Ukraine’s sovereignty is inviolable, its independence absolute, and any attempt to recognize Russia’s claims is a betrayal of international law and democratic values.

That’s why, alongside NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation leads, @RepMikeTurner & @GerryConnolly , I introduced the Non-Recognition Resolution—a defining statement of U.S. policy against Putin’s illegal war.

What this resolution does:

Rejects any and all Russian claims over sovereign Ukrainian territory—including Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

Ensures no U.S. policy or action will imply recognition of Russia’s illegal occupations.

Cements America’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity, and international law.
