I believe that Teacher Lee has no need to respond to the online criticisms because most of these critics haven’t even bought the coin. If you haven’t bought the coin, you’re not an investor, and therefore, you don’t have the right to comment on the company’s operations. Even if you’ve bought some, if your share is negligible, while you may have the right to voice your opinion, the decision-making power still depends on the majority shareholders.
If you’ve purchased Teacher Lee’s LI coin, then you’re an investor. However, you need to understand your purpose for investing and have clarity about the asset you’re investing in. Did you invest in LI coin because you believe it will generate dividends in the future? Obviously not, as meme coins inherently lack a dividend mechanism. Then, is your goal to speculate on the coin by leveraging market fluctuations to profit through high buys and low sells? This is certainly possible, and I believe most buyers in the cryptocurrency world purchase LI coins with this intent. However, this kind of speculation is purely a market behavior, and I assume such investors are well aware of this reality before entering the market. This explains why LI coin skyrocketed after its release and then quickly fell back—because these investors are speculating. Their best strategy is to make a profit and exit. If someone ends up holding the bag at the peak, they can only blame their luck and no one else. Predicting the price of a stock backed by tangible business profits is already challenging—how could you expect price stability from a meme coin that doesn’t even offer dividends?
Eliminating the aforementioned investors, those remaining who bought LI coin, I believe, did so purely to support Teacher Lee (or to both support Teacher Lee and speculate on the coin, but their primary purpose was to show support). Such investors should more accurately be called sponsors. They don’t care whether the LI coin will bring them any returns in the future. For them, buying LI coin is equivalent to donating to Teacher Lee. I believe those who purchased LI coin with this intent would never criticize Teacher Lee for issuing a meme coin.
In summary, Teacher Lee doesn’t need to provide excessive explanations to those who haven’t bought the coin. And those who have bought it, regardless of their intent, shouldn’t criticize Teacher Lee for issuing it.
The only thing Teacher Lee should be mindful of is avoiding any predictions or promises about the future price of LI coin when introducing it—basically, "buy it if you want, or don’t, nobody’s forcing you." It’s also better to make it clear to the public that, as an anti-CCP team, sustaining operations is already a challenge, and making a profit is even more unlikely. Moreover, neither the mechanism nor the intent allows for any possibility of future dividends. If you have the ability to profit through speculation, go ahead. If you lose money, accept it quietly. After all, our meme coin inherently lacks a dividend mechanism.
Thus, a virtual currency without a dividend mechanism is more about fundraising—or purely for fundraising. It’s a chance for those who want to support the anti-CCP cause. If you’re willing to donate, here’s your opportunity. As for speculation and high buys/low sells, that’s a game between sponsors (donors). Teacher Lee already telling you that he doesn’t plan to sell in the near term is the greatest kindness to those speculating.
The Fanzei community needs to use this incident for self-reflection. Is there a mentality within the community that resents others’ success? Is there a lack of courage and determination to grow stronger? The recent wave of criticism against Teacher Lee reminds me of when Guo Degang was attacked and ostracized by the traditional crosstalk community. Guo Degang said, "In the past, I was like a heinous criminal, and everyone wanted me dead. Now, I’m like Wi-Fi—everyone wants to piggyback on me." In this sense, these thoughtless Fanzei are firmly standing on the CCP’s side this time.
What is the CCP most afraid of? It’s afraid of Fanzei growing larger and stronger—with both people and money.
