華府街頭看中國：中國是敵是友？
影片在華盛頓街頭採訪多位民眾，詢問他們如何看待中國與美國的關係，以及中國究竟是競爭者還是敵人。受訪者談到貿易平衡、廉價商品、科技與高等教育、人工智慧和軍事競爭，也有人認為中美都是強國，兩國關係複雜，需要謹慎管理，不能簡單定義為敵友關係。

It's a competitor, an economic competitor primarily, and for influence.
So when you say major competitor, like in what area? Technology, industrial, military, trade, all areas. I see. Other than human rights.
Why is that? Why could you have more freedom in this country, by far? Yeah, competitor.
A lot in terms of really economies, goods, produce, you know, things like that where we're trying to get the balance in trade. You know, I know they make a lot of cheap things, so it's good because we noticed that the prices went up. But it's definitely a balance we have to do between what we import and what we export. Competitor on the world marketplace as well as the technology.
I just think that China is able to leverage some of our technology and also leverage our higher education, for undergraduate and graduate school as well. And so they're able to have numerous students here that are able to access and utilize the many facets of our technology.
Is that a problem?
I don't know if it's a problem right up front, but it's a concern because many times a lot of investment has gone into our technology, and then for it to be leveraged in a way that didn't require the study or investment, I think is something that we just have to be careful of.
Well, because I'm in a technical field, I understand the competition with the United States over technical fields, especially AI and some of the other new modern technologies. I think, from what I hear, they're a competitor, and I think that's fair enough to say that the United States is a competitor of theirs, because we're competitive. China is kind of competitive with us.
China, to me, wants to be the number one in the world, and they will do almost anything to do that, even if it takes us, America, down to do it. That's the way I look at China. I have nothing against China other than competition.
I think it's impossible to actually label one thing onto any nation versus the U.S., because it's complicated, it's complex, and it depends on what's going on in the moment. I think that both China and the U.S. are very powerful nations, and that relationship needs to be managed with kid gloves.
I think that every nation needs to be vigilant when it comes to those who are on equal par with them. I would say that I'm not going to say who's on an equal par with whom. I'm just going to say that both the U.S. and China are powerful nations, and it's important to maintain what is best for each nation.
