「臺海出事，芬蘭也躲不掉！」芬蘭議員親揭臺灣真正重要性

你覺得今天的活動怎麼樣？

非常有趣。我的意思是，在我的工作中，獲取資訊是最重要的事，因為這樣你才能做決定，依據資訊和事實。而對我來說，這類活動總是非常有趣，能學到更多、理解更多。芬蘭是個小國，我們有自己的問題，但若能廣泛理解世界如何運作，我認為這是很有意思的一天。

嗯，這就是臺灣人人民也會這樣告訴你：臺灣是個小國。你認為為什麼臺灣對芬蘭人，以及對芬蘭這個國家很重要？

我的意思是，這件事情是，從芬蘭的角度來看，有趣的是，當然，當我們現在審視地緣政治時，一切都在圍繞著烏克蘭，是芬蘭每個人都在關注的焦點，以及我們如何應對俄羅斯，以及那如何演變，以及我們如何實現持久的公正和平。

然後還有荷莫茲海峽，這影響著我們的日常生活，還有瓦斯價格等一切。而那樣的，首先是烏克蘭層級，那很接近，而且大家都同意。接著是荷莫茲，而在芬蘭，你已經能感受到那種大家可以對這件事有非常不同的看法，因為它離得稍微遠一些。

然後當我們看臺灣，或是臺灣海峽，它離芬蘭那麼遠，以至於所知與理解都有限。但當你瞭解臺灣的重要性，或是臺灣海峽，以及它是如何運作的，你就會明白，它基本上可以讓芬蘭停擺。

所以我看到三種不同的距離，這些區域以許多方式影響芬蘭，但你走得越遠，當然瞭解的人就越少。這可以理解，但正因如此，我認為今天的活動如此重要。

你以前去過臺灣，對吧？

我不到一年前去過臺北，談到芬蘭的能源系統，以及我們如何把它打造得具有韌性，讓我們不必依賴俄羅斯。比如說德國在戰前對這件事抱持非常不同的看法，而現在他們正苦苦掙扎。

至於我們芬蘭人，我們有再生電力生產，佔比是 96%，潔淨能源。所以那是我在臺灣要談的一件事，告訴你們如何打造這種韌性，透過有耐心且規劃完善的系統。

而且這趟訪問非常有趣，因為它讓我瞭解臺灣如何運作，以及他們的能源系統如何運作，以及當地有哪些困難。因為就像我說的，芬蘭實在太遙遠了，而要更瞭解它，能親眼看到它真是太好了，第一手。

你認為有沒有任何方面是能源領域、科技或日常生活方面，芬蘭能向臺灣學習，而臺灣能向芬蘭學習？

我的意思是，我個人認為，我們正踏進這個科技進步的新時代，隨著 AI 以及圍繞 AI 的一切，而有好多機會，它能創造的正面事物。但接著也有風險。

而對我來說，這就只是一切都在於找到可以一起做生意的朋友，並創造出那個安全的環境，讓你能夠在其中駕馭各種新科技，這些科技肯定會改變世界。

而我認為臺灣和芬蘭都，他們在那個領域都有很強的實力。而到頭來，我認為這對世界是好事，如果我們找到解決方案能夠支援自由，以及幫助人類的技術。

我的觀眾大多是臺灣人，所以如果有機會讓你推薦芬蘭的一些投資領域，你會向臺灣人推薦什麼？

這個嘛，芬蘭在許多領域都極具優勢。當然，太空科技是其中一個大型且目前正在成長的領域，而我們又再次談到歐洲的主權，我們如何在這些緊張局勢中應對，在地緣政治格局中？

太空、量子、AI，我是說非常優秀的領域。然後我是說，各種不同型別的技術和產業，但那些才是真正有趣的。就像我說的，這是增長與加速，在技術發展方面，這將會改變世界。

所以我真心希望芬蘭能夠參與這場競賽，而我們將會與我們的朋友一起做到。

非常感謝您，議員。最後一個問題，如果你有什麼想對臺灣朋友說的？

我的意思是，就像我先前在演講中說的，你要建立韌性，你要建立實力，你要建立競爭力，而你建立更美好的未來，是靠每天做對的事。而我認為這是芬蘭可以向世界展示的一個例子。

I think Taiwan and Finland have both they have very good strength on that area. At the end of the day I think it's good for the world if we find solutions that give that support freedom and technologies that help the humankind.

My name is Stan and today I have an honor to take part in the EFTA conference and I have Ville Kaunisto MP from Finland with me. MP thank you so much for agreeing to take part in my show.

What do you think about today's event?

Very interesting. I mean, in my work, getting information is the most important thing because then you can make decisions based on information and facts. And to me, these kind of events are always very interesting to learn more and understand more. Finland is a small country. We have our own problems, but to understand broadly how the world works, I think this is a very interesting day.

Well that's what the Taiwanese people would also tell you. Taiwan is a small country. Why do you think Taiwan is important for the Finnish people and for Finland as a country?

I mean, the thing is, what is interesting from Finland's perspective is, of course, when we look at geopolitics right now, everything is surrounding around Ukraine, is on everybody's mind in Finland, and how we deal with Russia and how that evolves, and how do we get a lasting just peace.

And then you have Strait of Hormuz, which is affecting our everyday life and gas prices and everything. And that kind of, first you have that Ukraine level, which is close and everybody agrees. Then you have Hormuz, and you already get this sense in Finland that you can have very different opinions about it because it's a little bit further away.

And then when we look at Taiwan or Strait of Taiwan and it's so far from Finland that knowledge and understanding is limited. But when you understand the importance of Taiwan or Strait of Taiwan and how it works, you understand it, it can basically stop Finland.

So I see three different distances of areas that affect Finland in many ways, but the further you go, the less people understand of course. Which is understandable but that's why I think today's event is so important.

You have been to Taiwan before right?

I was in Taipei less than a year ago talking about Finnish energy system and how we build it resilient so that we were not dependent on Russia. Say Germany had a very different kind of view on it before the war and now they are struggling.

With us Finns we have renewable electricity production. It's 96% clean energy. So that was one thing that I was in Taiwan to talk about, to tell how you can create this kind of resilience with a patient and well-planned system.

And also the visit was very interesting because it gave me a perspective of how Taiwan works and how their energy system works and what are the difficulties there. Because like I said Finland is so far away and to understand it better, it was great to see it firsthand.

Do you think that there are any aspects of the energy sector or of technology or everyday life that Finland can learn from Taiwan and Taiwan can learn from Finland?

I mean, I personally think that we are stepping into this new era of technological advancement with AI and everything that is around AI. And there are so many opportunities, the positive things that it can create. But then there are the risks.

And to me it's just everything is based on finding friends to do business with and create that safe environment where you can navigate through new technologies that will change the world for sure.

And I think Taiwan and Finland has both they have very good strength on that area. And at the end of the day I think it's good for the world if we find solutions that give that support freedom and technologies that help the humankind.

Most of my viewers are Taiwanese so if you had an opportunity to recommend some investment areas in Finland what would you recommend to the Taiwanese people?

Well, we are extremely good on many areas in Finland. Of course space tech is one of the big growing ones right now. And again we come to the sovereignty in Europe. How do we manage in these tensions in the geopolitical landscape?

Space quantum AI. I mean very good ones. Then I mean a long variety of different kind of technologies and industries. But those are the interesting ones.

Like I said, it's the increase and the acceleration in the development of technologies, it's going to change the world. So I really hope that Finland is going to be in that race and we're going to be doing that with our friends.

Thank you so much MP. And final question if you have anything to say to the Taiwanese friends?

I mean, like I said in my speech earlier, you build resilience and you build strength and you build competitiveness and you build a better future by doing the right things every day. And I think that's one example that Finland can show to the world.
