After the Outbreak of the Korean War, the U.S. Viewed Mainland China and Taiwan as Distinct Political Entities

After the Korean War began in June 1950, a long-term policy reality formed among the United States, Taiwan, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP): the mainland and Taiwan were treated as two separate political entities.
