On September 25, a netizen from Fujian posted that after traveling to Hong Kong to purchase an iPhone on the official Apple website, they received an SMS from China Merchants Bank (CMB). The message stated that, following instructions from the police and in accordance with the Anti-Telecom and Online Fraud Law, temporary protective measures had been taken on all bank cards under their name, suspending both counter and non-counter services. The netizen claimed they only used credit cards and Alipay while in Hong Kong, with the rest being cash transactions.
