On September 3, 2026, China's Ministry of Commerce lodged solemn representations over the punitive anti-ultra-fast-fashion law introduced by France targeting platforms such as Shein, urged the French side to immediately stop implementing it, and stated that all consequences arising therefrom shall be borne by the French side.
