On the night of October 27, under controversy surrounding Kylian Mbappé and pressure from accusations, Fan Zhendong unfollowed Mbappé on both Weibo and Instagram and deleted his Real Madrid fan bio. Previously, Weibo blogger "Xu's Observation" posted urging him to "make a clear stance and cut ties quickly."
On October 26, Olympic table tennis champion Fan Zhendong shared his experience of watching a Real Madrid match at the Barcelona home stadium on Weibo, without mentioning Kylian Mbappé. Screenshots of a report page posted by netizens show that 45% of users selected the 'insulting martyrs' category.
On October 4, while the Yangshipin app was live-streaming the WTT China Smash, netizens found that comments containing “Fan Zhendong” could not be sent in the danmaku, while comments such as “Go Wang Chuqin” displayed normally, and the comment section questioned the platform’s censorship.
