Iran's Foreign Ministry warned South Korea against participating in U.S. operations in the Strait of Hormuz, saying it would otherwise bring serious consequences. The South Korean government subsequently responded that it must reconsider dispatching military assets to join the U.S. military's Hormuz operations.

A spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry said that Iran has not held direct negotiations with the United States, but is working with Oman to reach an understanding on ensuring shipping safety in the Strait of Hormuz.
