In 2014, the Taiyuan Beifu Community Residents' Committee, on the grounds of preventing residents from spending blindly, borrowed demolition compensation funds for urban village renovation, agreeing on a monthly return of 1.5% and repayment of principal by the end of August 2016; after maturity, it verbally lowered the return to 1%, and residents demanded repayment multiple times, yet 1.5 million yuan of principal remains unpaid to this day.
