24-Year-Old Chinese Man Sun Arrested in the US While Collecting $60,000 in Scam Proceeds in Person
According to WWMT television, 24-year-old Chinese national Xiangbo Sun entered the country on a tourist visa and is suspected of taking part in a scam impersonating the US Federal Trade Commission, with more than $1 million involved across the country. On June 18, after collecting $60,000 in scam money from an elderly woman at her home in Michigan, he was arrested by officers lying in wait; the woman had been defrauded of nearly $500,000 within two months. Sun faces fraud and theft charges, and arrest warrants have been issued for him in Texas and Virginia.
