On September 30, a netizen claiming to be a relative of Yang Ziyi posted on Xiaohongshu (RedNote), questioning that she had sought help from her supervisor only to be refused, and that two supervisors later refused to step forward, demanding that the school give the truth. In the early hours of September 26, Yang Ziyi, a 23-year-old graduate student in energy and power engineering at Tongji University's School of Automotive Studies, fell to her death at the Jiading campus. Her family said she had already bought a train ticket to go home for the Mid-Autumn Festival but refunded it because the school had something going on.
