Overseas leaks claim that after being courted by Peng Liyuan, CMC Vice Chairman Xu Qiliang personally established a CMC Cadre Assessment Commission that sits above the General Political Department, and also assembled a 6-person special security team for Peng Liyuan.
Xu Qiliang reportedly committed suicide to atone for his sins after Hu Jintao made a political comeback, due to his alleged involvement in military reforms, the establishment of evaluation committees, and special security task forces.
