On October 20, Taiwan's National Security Bureau submitted a report to the Legislative Yuan, saying that the CCP sets the narrative through state media and influences the year-end nine-in-one elections through proxy accounts, troll armies, PR companies, and AI audio and video, involving issues such as energy, food safety, and national defense; from January to September this year it collected more than 2.5 million pieces of disputed information, up about 48% year-on-year.

A report by Taiwan's state security (MSS) indicates that about 45,000 suspicious accounts were detected in 2025, a significant increase from 28,000 in 2024, showing Beijing is stepping up its cognitive warfare efforts against Taiwan.
