Russia Refuses to Extradite Former President Bashar al-Assad, Sentenced to Death by a Syrian Court
According to Clash Report, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko explicitly stated that Russia refuses to extradite former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Assad was previously sentenced to death in absentia by a Syrian court in August this year on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and Russia has now decided to grant him political asylum.
