Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated at a regular press conference that UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 confirms the one-China principle and resolves the issue of representation for the whole of China, including Taiwan, at the United Nations.

According to the interview, the United Nations passed the relevant resolution in March 2026, with over 140 member states together with the United States condemning Iran's attack on neighboring countries and restricting navigation of the Strait of Hormuz.

A spokesperson for the State Council of the United States in Chinese said that Trump and Xi Jinping already held a face-to-face meeting in 2026, and a meeting later this year is not ruled out.
