A report on October 2 by the Philippine Chinese Commercial News said that the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Chinese Education Center decided to withdraw Chinese volunteer and dispatched teachers teaching in Chinese schools in the Philippines, returning home in batches starting October 1, totaling about 150 people, with the reason attributed to safety concerns among the teachers' families.
