On September 19, 2024, Liu Wenjie, Party Secretary and Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Finance, died after falling from a residential building for the Department of Finance in Tianxin District, Changsha. Two other suspects involved in the same case also fell to their deaths. The police have classified the incident as a criminal case.
