Wei Xiaodong, former chairman of the Beijing Municipal CPPCC Committee, Jiangxi Governor Ye Jianchun, and Liu Jianyang, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and head of its Organization Department, have successively been placed on file for review and investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

Wei Xiaodong, former chairman of the Beijing Municipal CPPCC Committee, is alleged to have confessed to investigators; his case subsequently implicated Xue Kan, Party secretary of Shanghai's Yangpu District, who was placed under investigation.
