Li Qiming, the defendant in the Hebei University campus vehicle-ramming case, was sentenced to six years in prison for the crime of causing a traffic accident.

On the evening of October 16, 2010, a drunk-driving hit-and-run occurred at the new campus of Hebei University, leaving two female students, one dead and one injured. After the driver, Li Qiming, was caught, he shouted “My dad is Li Gang,” causing an uproar in public opinion.
