Joseph Wu Says Taiwan Has Reduced Reliance on China, Economy Expected to Grow About 11% This Year
On October 20, Taiwan's National Security Council Secretary-General Joseph Wu said at an international seminar in Taipei that Taiwan has reduced its dependence on mainland China since 2016 and is less impacted by China's overcapacity, with economic growth expected to reach 11% or slightly higher this year; he criticized Beijing for failing to resolve weak domestic demand and instead subsidizing industries on a massive scale and exporting surplus products to the world at low prices, calling on all countries to reduce risks with concrete action.
