The Economist reported on September 17 that the number of college graduates this year reached a record 12.7 million; a property market slump and weak consumption have shrunk corporate demand, and even using an adjusted statistical method, summer youth unemployment was still approaching 20%.
The Economist reported that more and more Chinese young people are choosing to lie flat, become full-time children, or pay about 30 yuan a day to join "pretend-to-work" companies or spend their days at the library, in order to maintain a psychological sense of workplace participation.
