MSS Publicly Announces Three Closed Spy Cases in a Batch Before National Day
Around September 26, the Ministry of State Security publicly released three closed espionage cases in a batch: aerospace researcher Zhao Xuejun was recruited and turned by overseas agents to steal secrets and was sentenced to seven years; exchange student Xiao Zhe who went to Taiwan for an exchange program was cultivated by Taiwan Military Intelligence Bureau agent Xu Liting and leaked nearly 100 pieces of national defense science and industry intelligence; public official Zhang stationed abroad was coerced into espionage through a honey trap; all were held criminally responsible.
