Ms. Ma Yongtian plans to once again intercept his motorcade during Xi Jinping's visit to the United States, demanding the release of her son and husband who have been deprived of freedom.

Ms. Ma Yongtian's son and husband were again summoned to a police station by the Changchun Municipal Public Security Bureau in 2023 and were granted conditional release on bail, meaning they are still considered criminal suspects.

After Ms. Ma Yongtian's son and husband completed their immigration procedures to the United States in 2017, they were stopped from leaving the country by the Changchun Public Security Bureau. Their passports and related documents were confiscated, and they were designated as suspects of "illegal emigration," released on bail pending trial.

The Changchun Municipal Government internally reported in 2003 that the incident of seizing Ms. Ma Yongtian's factory was illegal and wrong.

Ms. Ma Yongtian won a lawsuit regarding her factory being robbed in 2002 and obtained a court judgment.

Ms. Ma Yongtian said that her factory was robbed in 2001, and then she began petitioning for rights.
