Taiwan Government Issues Statement Refuting Beijing's Narrative of the War of Resistance History
In response to the mention of the Flying Tigers and the Chinese Communist Party's history of the War of Resistance during the Trump-Xi meeting, the Government of the Republic of China issued a statement on September 25, stressing that the People's Republic of China was founded in 1949 and did not exist during the War of Resistance, that it was the Republic of China that fought shoulder to shoulder with the United States, and that the Chinese Communist Party cannot erase the historical contribution of the Republic of China.
