First X-Ray Machine at Shanghai Quyang District Hospital Was Bought and Donated at His Own Expense by Radiology Director surnamed Zhao in the 1950s
Hu Liren said that Zhao, father of his friend Zhao Jun and the first director of the radiology department at Quyang District Hospital, took gold bars from his home in the early 1950s and entrusted someone to go to Hong Kong to buy an X-ray machine, which was shipped back to Shanghai and donated to the hospital in the name of a gift, becoming the hospital's first X-ray equipment; this was recounted by his students at the memorial meeting after his death.
