Niger's Oil Ministry Reports PetroChina's W8 Well Blowout Still Not Fully Controlled After 17 Days
On October 12, Niger's Ministry of Petroleum announced that the W8 well at Goumeri has still not been fully controlled since the blowout on September 25, constituting an "extremely serious environmental accident," and that an independent investigation backed by Algerian experts has already been launched.
