In late June 2026, a labor dispute broke out at a China Minmetals 23rd Metallurgical construction project in Haikou, Hainan. Several construction workers, owed unpaid wages, gathered in protest in front of the site gate and used steel pipes to block the passage, preventing vehicles from entering or leaving.
