Tianjin Binhai New Area's GDP Revised from Over 1 Trillion Yuan to 665.4 Billion Yuan
In January 2018, Tianjin Binhai New Area switched its GDP statistical basis from registered to local, revising its 2016 GDP from 1,000.231 billion yuan to 665.4 billion yuan, a drop of about one third; the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Statistics said this had no impact on the city's overall GDP.
