The China Center for International Economic Exchanges has been transferred in full to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, with Vice President Peng Jinhui in charge of the handover work.

Peng Jinhui, Deputy Head of the Organization Department of the CCP Central Committee, has been transferred away from the department to serve as Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In 2019, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences released actuarial projections stating that the broad-caliber social security surplus would peak in 2027 and be exhausted by 2035, but in reality the timeline was pushed back due to increased fiscal subsidies.
