Liaoning People's Congress Bribery Case Implicates Large Number of Provincial Deputies
The first session of the 12th Liaoning Provincial People's Congress elected 102 deputies to the National People's Congress; it was later discovered that 45 of them were involved in vote-buying. Among the 619 provincial deputies, 523 were implicated and eventually resigned or were removed from office.
